Love Clancy’s… a New Orleans classic. When you start with warm French bread, wine and fried oysters & Brie; you know you’re in for a wonderful dining experience.
I had the Sautéed veal with Mushroom Marsala Demi, which did not disappoint. Veal was very tender… cooked to perfection.
Add in a lovely atmosphere, great service, full bar and great entrees and you’re all set.
Thank you Martin for taking good care of us.
Great experience.
Food is so great, we ate here twice on our trip! The deviled eggs with remoulade, fried oysters with Brie & crab salad are fabulous! Loved the buttered rum budino on our December 2023 visit!
We were in New Orleans for a friend's birthday in mid-December came here for dinner on a Thursday night. After a very brief wait at the bar we were seated at our table. Drinks arrived promptly and the service was attentive all evening. We ordered a bunch of apps for the table that were all great (especially the veal and ricotta meatballs). For dessert we had the famous icebox pie and it did not disappoint. Wonderful experience!
Our favorite restaurant during our one week visit to New Orleans. Lively spot with excellent food. Our favorites were the gulf white fish special, fried oysters and the bread pudding dessert.
After a day at the zoo, we made our way over to Clancy's for a light snack. This was our first time in New Orleans, and I had read some great things about Clancy's! They aren't open for lunch every day, so we planned our zoo trip for Thursday when they are.
First off, what a cute place! Really liked the atmosphere. And the service was good - but it was the bread guy who we loved! Our server was okay but not super attentive at times. However, the gentleman who brought us the bread was awesome. The place wasn't very busy, and he'd pop by to chat with my son and even brought us some extra bread (which is this light, warm French bread and very good!). I wish I had gotten his name, so I could give him a shout out!
Anyway, we ordered the Fried Oysters with Brie as I had read this was a must. We also got the Crawfish Gumbo. The oysters with brie is, in all honesty, not the most appealing presentation, lol. I won't say what my son said it looked like! It did need some greenery on top - that might have helped. But do NOT let that throw you off as it is quite good! The gumbo was also good - kind of smoky in flavor.
I'm sure if we had ordered more, I would probably be giving it a five-star. We hope to return to NOLA in the near future, and we will be back to Clancy's to try more of the menu and hopefully, we'll see the awesome bread guy again. :)
Where the generations of New Orleanians dine, for all occasions, with all ages. Social, business, celebratory! An ultimate dining experience in The City. Every single item on the menu and bar menu is superb. It is a lively, elegant dining experience. Make reservations.
1st time there and the experience was great. Our server, Tommy, was great and really helpful. I had the romaine salad with bacon and tomatoes and the filet mignon. Both were awesome. My wife had gumbo and a seafood special that she loved. Drinks were delicious as well. We shared a bread pudding dessert that was one of the best in town. Can't wait to go back.
Always incredible food, great service, and a cozy environment. A real locals establishment, but don’t tell anyone 🤫My favorite dishes are the sweetbreads and the roasted duck. The scallops are huge and delicious, as well as the pork chop. Prices run between $10-20 for appetizers and &25-40 for entrees, but definitely worth it for dining here!
